Start A New Year With A New Phone

After successfully going through my first annual performance review, I was awarded with a reasonable increment, thanks to the management at my current workplace. Apart from that, my baby boo also received her annual performance review one month after mine, and mind you that she was all nervous as it was her first review as well.

In addition, I was glad as my review was completed before my year-end bonus, which means that my bonus is also higher than last year. So initially, I plan to upgrade my phone but was having so much difficulty deciding which to buy as one of the factors involved was liquidity.

At the mean time, my baby boo was very impressed with the features of recently-launched Nokia N82. She was so obsessed with the camera capability of that phone and I think she went through several sleepless nights just thinking about it. She was also having problems deciding which phone to buy as she was turned off by the sound quality of N82.

As for me, I managed to sell my old phone (Sony Ericsson K750i) in a local auction/bid through the help of my colleague. Surprisingly, after a few bidding and price jacking, I managed to obtain RM 350.00 for the phone after about two weeks of listing period. My kind friend/colleague, which also bought himself a new Nokia N95, will help send out the item this week, thanks to him.

Prior to sending the phone out to the successful buyer, I went to Wisma Saberkas and got myself a brand new Sony Ericsson Z610i, after going through all the possible phone reviews in the Internet. Also, I got myself a 1GB Sandisk M2 memory card. In actual fact, I wanted to get the Nokia 6110 Navigator at first, which has a built-in GPS system and a good sound quality output.

Only two things stopped me from buying that model, it’s a slide phone (never liked the idea of sliding phone) and the price is a bit too spicy (I was told the best price for that phone was about RM 1350.00). However, I was quite impressed by the sound quality of that model, which has two speakers at the back of the handset, but was disappointed with the camera performance.

Well, most probably I will only upgrade my phone after my next annual performance review, which should be before end of 2008. Hopefully, I will once again be rewarded with something bigger this time. For now, I’ll just stick to this model, which so far has impressed me in most of its features, except using mp4 videos as ring tone.
